Nicaragua School

To upgrade the kitchen with new appliances, cooler and food storage and to guarantee a food programme for the students for one year. Project partners FeViva The school is located in one of the most dangerous and poverty stricken areas of Managua, amongst a settlement of tiny shacks with about 3,000 people living in extreme poverty. The homes are made mostly of cardboard, tin and plastic, and there are no social programs of any kind to assist these families.. Managua slums are considered among the worst in the world. Gangs rule the area so children are destined to join the gangs or risk harassment or even death. Education is the solution. Our partners FeViva have been operating in Central America since 1995. Since Fe Viva committed to support the once-failing school, a daily feeding and nutrition program was started and 30 more students have been taken in, for a total of 170 students. The need to improve the facility is great. One thousand other children are still walking the streets, destined to join the gangs unless they are given the opportunity for quality education.

The provision of safe water has an has a far reaching impact on: Health - decrease in water borne disease Time - to tend animals, go to school, crafts such as beading, trading. Economic diversification - agriculture, brick making In partnership with Ryan’s Well, Rally4Life is providing life saving hand pump wells. Education Centre, Casa Esperanza

Based at Casa Esperanza, an orphanage located in Southern Guatemala. The Fe Viva Education Centre is a multi-faceted building project designed to improve the quality of life for the orphans and in the surrounding community of Poza de Agua, through educational opportunities, classes, seminars, programs, etc. These programs will be open to the public in the surrounding community. Our mission is to improve the quality of life, both physically and spiritually in the community at large and to help eliminate poverty by training leaders and families to help themselves. Lack of education is the leading cause of poverty. Our hope is to develop a working model for community education that can be exported to other communities throughout the country and Central America.

Turkana Safe Water

Rally4Life is currently assessing the possibility of providing safe water to the people of the Turkana Region of Northern Kenya. Turkana West District is in North Western Kenya and is one of the most marginalized districts in Kenya. This is indicated by lack of or poor infrastructure, poor social services, and high illiteracy and poverty rates. The area also suffers from cyclic droughts and floods, insecurity and cattle rustling along the Kenya-Sudan-Uganda boundaries, worsening the living conditions even further. This year, the district experienced drought and is yet to recover and the drought led to loss of livelihoods due to deaths of livestock and displacement of human populations due to cross border raids.
