Evan Guthrie
Evan got into cycling at the age of five when he and his dad used to go mountain biking in the flumes along Powers Creek. Eventually Evan got a nice mountain bike, and did his first BC Cup race in Summerland when he was in gr. 6, finishing dead last, but still loved the whole “racing” experience. Starting the next year Evan was racing the full BC Cup series, and a few years later moved onto racing the Canada Cup series. Last season Evan was asked to ride on Total Restoration, Which provided a great ‘team’ dynamic with training and racing. Evan was able to learn valuable skill and gain fitness thought the year, which showed with his many podium finished. Need year dates
He progressed to being the Junior National mountain bike champion the past two seasons. Evan is also the reigning junior national cyclo-cross champion. He has raced for Canada at the past two mountain bike world championships, this year with the biggest result of his career, the silver medal in the Team Relay. This year Evan was also able to grab 2nd place in the Canada Games and take the a pair of wins in the Canadian World Cups
