Mark Jennings-Bates – Rally Driver
Adventure With A Purpose.
Mark is co-founder of Rally4Life, and his goal is to raise awareness for the Charity and it’s goals through his adrenaline seeking adventurous activities.
Growing up rock climbing and kayaking Mark moved to Canada in 1988 and learnt to enjoy back country skiing, dog sledding, ice climbing and white water rafting. However in 2005 he re-discovered an earlier passion for rally car driving, and he created his own successful team. This evolved into the creation of his adventure advocacy and Rally4Life, to give his pursuits purpose.
Mark is currently attempting to raise awareness by challenging himself to compete in some of the world’s most grueling races and by attempting to set significant world records. As driver for Bowler Offroad team he will be joining them in their next attempt at the Dakar Rally.
He hopes to race a motorbike in the Baja 1000 with his Bowler co-driver Mick Extance, who is Britain’s top Dakar bike rider, and quite the inspiration.
His world record attempt is still a secret but we can tell you it involves paragliding, so stay tuned.
Mark’s training regime to keep fit includes Mountain Adventure Races, off-road triathlons and he is thinking of competing in an endurance marathon in Guatemala next year if anyone would like to join him.
